BLOSSOM FESTIVAL & GRAND PRIX – A KARTING LEGACY IN FULL BLOOM

Welcome to Blossom—KartSport Hawkes Bay’s most iconic event and a cornerstone of New Zealand’s karting calendar.

From humble beginnings racing through the streets of Hastings in the late 1960s, Blossom has blossomed (pun intended!) into a cherished tradition for generations of racers, volunteers, and motorsport fans. Held each spring, this event is more than just a race—it's a celebration of karting history, community spirit, and fierce competition.

Over the years, Blossom has worn many hats. One unforgettable format saw racers sprinting at Roys Hill on Saturday, before tackling a legendary road race at Thunder Park drag strip on Sunday—a site that now echoes with the hum of vineyard tractors rather than kart engines. No matter the layout, each era has brought with it the unmistakable energy and excitement that defines Blossom.

Whether you're hitting the track, cheering from the sidelines, or supporting behind the scenes, your involvement helps keep the legacy of Blossom alive—honouring the past, celebrating the present, and inspiring the future of karting in Aotearoa.

Join us this spring at CCR Raceway for a weekend of speed, spirit, and storytelling—Blossom is back, and better than ever.
